Six Primroses Each by Ellen Dryden is set in the 1940's. Elinors Oak by Anne Knight follows a class of school children in the present. The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole is of course adpated from Sue Townsend's series of books about the life of Adrian Mole. His strange family, his attempt at courting new arrival Pandora, the school's most beautiful girl: it's all there!
