A Magical Christmas
Performed 25 and 26 January and 1 and 2 February 2008
This year's panto has been written by the director, Celia Bramwell. Jack Frostbite is the villain, with his assistant Coldspot. Up against them is King Wenceslas, his daughter Princess Holly, dame Glad Tidings the palace cook and her dim son Ebb. Father Christmas and his wife Mrs Christmas even make an appearance. Local woodsman William has to find a Christmas tree for the palace (and like every year overlooks these two curious looking trees Longdrop and Shortdrop) and Glad and Ebb have to decorate it. One problem though: evil Jack Frostbite, intent on spoiling Christmas for everyone, has stolen the Christmas Angel with the help of Coldspot and the Frosties! All the palace staff and all the villagers are trying to find it before the King finds out it's missing. Will they, or will Jack, Coldspot and the Frosties prevail? While all that is going on, William and his son Harry are having problems in the romance department, lusting after Glad and Princess Holly, repectively. Will they get each other?
Written and d irected by Celia Bramwell, produced by Celia Bradnam.
