The play, by Bob Larbey, the writer of The Good Life, The Fenn Street Gang, Ever Decreasing Circles and A Fine Romance, was first performed in the Nuffiled Theatre in Southhampton in 1985. A play about heroism, humanity and growing old, it was described as "warm, wonderful, tenderly and perceptively written - a surprisingly enchanting play".
